The tickets are already sold out, but this event is too cool not to mention. This weekend, genre icon Robert Englund will be teaming up with some of his A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS co-stars to perform a live reading of the DREAM WARRIORS script at the world famous Whisky-A-Go-Go.
Here's some information on the event:
A once-in-a-lifetime staged reading of the 1987 slasher classic, "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" performed by the iconic actors from the original film as well as friends of the 35-year “Nightmare” legacy. Proceeds will benefit the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, dedicated to helping teens and transforming lives since 1942.
A portion of each ticket is tax deductible.
The all star cast includes Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger; Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson and Ira Heiden, Rodney Eastman, Bradley Gregg, Penelope Sudrow as the Dream Warriors.
Langenkamp and Heiden are producing the event, which will also feature special appearances by A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER stars Tuesday Knight and Brooke Theiss, the original NIGHTMARE's Amanda Wyss, and DREAM WARRIORS director Chuck Russell, who will be narrating the script.
Langenkamp had this to say about the event:
Ira and I, and other Dream Warriors, had talked about putting on a staged reading for a couple of years. We thought a performance to raise money for teen mental health was a perfect goal."
Heiden adds:
We knew this was going to be a once-in-a-lifetime event, so where better to have it than at a legendary venue like the Whisky?"
Only 105 fans will have the chance to witness this reading, as there were just 40 VIP and 65 General Admission tickets available.
The performance will begin at 1pm on Sunday, September 8th. The Whisky-A-Go-Go doors will open at 12:30pm, and there will be a 15 minute intermission during the event.
To raise additional funds for the Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, there will also be a raffle and a silent auction.
