Dredd producer says new mini-series Dark Judges to debut online this month

DREDD fans, it is time to get excited. While it may not be the theatrical sequel you wanted, we are getting more adventures in the same rebooted universe that the Karl Urban action flick took place in. DREDD producer Adi Shankar has been developing a new mini-series based on the Dark Judges and it is very close to seeing the light of day.

Part of the same Bootleg Universe as the Thomas Jane short “Dirty Laundry” and the Venom short starring TRUE BLOOD’s Ryan Kwanten, “Dark Judges” will be debuting online later this month and it will be absolutely free. What sites it will be hosted by or how long the mini-series will be is unknown. We can assume it will be live action like the other short films, but there are no more details than that.

The Dark Judges consist of Judge Death, Judge Fire, Judge Fear and Judge Mortis. They come from a parallel universe to the one DREDD inhabits and are one of the main recurring villains in the comic series. Whether Dredd himself will appear in the shorts is unknown, but hopefully Karl Urban will reprise his role. Once we know more, we will certainly bring you the details.
