With remakes happening every other day of the week (many of which biting the big one), it was only a matter of time before a remake would pull a smart move and actually listen to the fans of the original about what they’d like to see. Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN kind of pulled that move with the backlash of his script, and now Masterplan Films LTD and
Urban Way Productions LTD are doing something in the same direction, for their remake of THE DRILLER KILLER!
They’re hosting a forum for fans to give their two cents into how they want the project to be… check it out, in their words: . Unlike most other forums for upcoming films, this forum allows the engagement of fans with the filmmakers behind the redux. It offers a chance for fans to speak up, and give input to what they would want to see from the remake. You never know, your suggestion could make a difference! Andrew Jones (the writer and director) has said, he already has everything planned and prepped in terms of what is going to make, but nevertheless he still wants input from the fans themselves.
And you though filmmakers didn’t care about your opinions! This is some great news if you’re a DRILLER KILLER fan, or just interested in the filmmaking process in general. The forum also has updates from the director about how production is going, and all that fun stuff. Pretty cool move for sure, and while it’s a remake and all, I gotta respect them for pulling together and doing something ‘new’ in terms of the marketing of the flick.
