Drink up! Thirst images

If you’re craving some new South Korean, blood-sucker flick pics, then please allow me to quench your THIRST! Yikes, I know I should probably be staked for attempting such a pun, but let’s concentrate fully on the images at hand. Up top and below, you will find a collection of very moody shots from Chan-wook Park’s dark horror drama.

Knowing that Mr. Park is at the helm of this one, makes me anxiously curious as to what it’s going to be like. Park’s OLDBOY was such a singular, indescribable achievement, that I’m dying to see how he’d handle a vampire flick. And seeing as how THIRST has already picked up numerous awards, I’m pretty sure that U.S. audiences are in for one helluva ride. Here’s a reminder of the plot:

Beloved and devoted priest from a small town volunteers for a medical experiment which fails and turns him into a vampire. Physical and psychological changes lead to his affair with a wife of his childhood friend who is repressed and tired of her mundane life. The one-time priest falls deeper in despair and depravity. As things turns for worse, he struggles to maintain whats left of his humanity.

Well, there be some deep shit. I’m glad we don’t have to wait too much longer to catch THIRST. Its release in the States is set for July 31st. The cast is comprised of Eriq Ebouaney, Kang-ho Song, Ha-kyun Shin, and Mercedes Cabral.
