Drowning Molly H.

Last month was when I first discovered the horror indie known as THE HAUNTING OF MOLLY HARTLEY and had my curiosity piqued. The very next day, my man Eric shelled out the flick’s first poster, which looked quite eerie. Today, I stumbled across a brand new pic from MOLLY (above) and I’ve gotta say, it sure is disturbingly awesome! The image comes off as so still, yet my pulse is racing. That’s the sign of good horror.

Which, of course, leads me to hypothesize that MOLLY HARTLEY may be something more than your average genre offering. Plus, as it says at the bottom of the poster, it’s coming out on Halloween! Is there a better time to release a horror film? Take a dip in the plot once more:

In this tale of spellbinding suspense, something evil lurks just beneath the lush surfaces of a teenaged girl’s private school world – and it holds the rights to her very soul. Now, on the eve of her 18th birthday, Molly Hartley is about to discover the truth of just who, or rather what, it is she is destined to become…

MOLLY is the directorial debut for Mickey Liddell. The script was written by John Travis (THE NEW DAUGHTER) and Rebecca Sonnenshine (AMERICAN ZOMBIE). The great cast consists of Haley Bennett (below), Chace Crawford (THE CONVENANT), AnnaLynne McCord (DAY OF THE DEAD ’08), Shana Collins. Jake Weber (DAWN OF THE DEAD ’04), Josh Stewart, Nina Siemaszko and Shannon Marie Woodward.
