Duncan Jones’ Source Code being adapted to the small screen by CBS

Truth be told, I’ve yet to scope Duncan Jones’ time-loop thriller SOURCE CODE, but from what I’ve heard, the flick is a pretty fun little action flick. And you know what…CBS must feel the same way…why else would they gear up to adapt the movie to the small screen?!?

That’s right y’all, THR has it that producer Mark Gordon is bringing his movie to CBS for a TV series adaptation. Like the film on which it is based, the action/procedural will follow three former federal agents who are part of a top-secret program. Each week, they’ll use “Source Code” technology to jump into the consciousness of people involved in tragic events. Steve Maeda (LIE TO ME, “Lost”) is set to adapt the script.

Again, I can’t be certain, but if the GROUNDHOG DAY parallels are as true as I’ve heard, a TV serial could be a pretty interesting format for this particular premise. Of course, casting and directing will account for a lot of how it will ultimately turn out, but it seems like a good basis for a TV show. What says you?
