Dune: Part Two, the second half of director Denis Villeneuve’s two-part adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel Dune, has a release date of November 3rd – and returning Dune: Part One stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya participated in the Warner Bros. presentation at CineEurope in Barcelona to promote the upcoming film. During the presentation, they talked about the fight scenes and sandworms that will be seen in this half of the story.

Deadline reported that Chalamet, who plays Paul Atreides, “a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding”, said his character “is trying to redeem the House of Atreides” in Dune: Part Two. “In Part One, he was a student. In Part Two, he’s thrown into the Fremen culture and the terrors of the desert.

Zendaya said that her character Chani and Chalamet’s Paul have “a beautiful love story; there’s a war going on while they are just trying to grow up.” And due to that war, she “got to do fight scenes” in this movie.

They also addressed the moment seen in the trailer where Paul tries to ride a sandworm. After joking that the sandworms were real, they revealed that the sandworm sequences had their own unit devoted to them. “There was a main unit, a second unit, and a sandworm unit.

Scripted by Villeneuve, Eric Roth, and Jon Spaihts, Dune: Part One (watch or buy it HERE) introduced viewers to Paul, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence – a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential – only those who can conquer their fear will survive. Coming to us from Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment, Dune: Part Two will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.

Chalamet and Zendaya are joined in the cast by fellow returning Dune: Part One cast members Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Josh Brolin, as well as new additions Austin Butler, Tim Blake Nelson, Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Souheila Yacoub, and Léa Seydoux. Talking about the new cast members, Chalamet said, “What a crazy new group. Everyone brought their flavor and came in fully on fire.

Gains, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, Thomas Tull, Richard P. Rubinstein, and John Harrison. Kevin J. Anderson is creative consultant.
