Dune’s first official image reveals Timothée Chalamet As Paul Atreides

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Denis Villeneuve's highly-anticipated adaptation of Frank Herbert's DUNE hits screens later this year and while it has been mostly shrouded in secrecy, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. have revealed a first look image of Timothée Chalamet as the main protagonist of the story, Paul Atreides.

The image shows Chalamet as the young hero stands on the shores of what appears to be his native planet of Caladan as transport ships hover above him. The image coincides with a "Vanity Fair" story about the making of the film which can also be viewed on the official Instagram page for Legendary Pictures. Check out the first look image below:

While numerous 2020 productions have been delayed, DUNE is still on track for its release on December 18. The film follows the son of a noble family entrusted with the protection of the most valuable asset and most vital element in the galaxy. The film also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem & Oscar Isaac.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Denis Villeneuve is a true visionary talent and he hasn't disappointed me yet. With an impressive cast and his vision, I think we're in for a winner with his take on DUNE. Do YOU think DUNE will live up to the hype? What are YOUR thoughts of the first look image?
