Dunes on Hitcher

Those rat-bastards at Platinum Dunes, the ones behind such remakes as THE AMITYVILLE HORROR and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (same dudes HERE) sat down with Now Playing Magazine today and went more indepth on their sacreligious attempt to remake THE HITCHER.


“We were just talking in a room one day about movies that we loved, especially movies that did not break out at all. And The Hitcher was one of those. Where, especially today if you talk to kids under 20, no one knows what The Hitcher is at all. … When I was in high school, that came out and I loved it. And I still can’t believe that movie made what it made at the box office, which was next to nothing.”


Since when the f*ck hasn’t THE HITCHER broken out? It’s a cult classic! People straight up love that movie where I come from! So what if it didn’t make Box Office bank 20 years ago! It’s made all that and then some in VHS & DVD sales by now!


Some punk first-time director named Dave Meyers (actually, I have nothing againist the dude- he’s just trying to make it out there…) is on board, yet no stars are attached yet. Producer Brad Fuller did say that it’s going to be bigger in scope and budget than both TCM and AMITYVILLE- which is saying a lot!
