VACANCY -August 14th
Remember back when the theatrical poster and the VHS cover art used to be the same thing? Man, I loved those days, and for this very reason. I thought VACANCY’s theatrical poster was simple, and really effective- and what do they do here? Slap up the stars faces over half the thing, just in case people who rent/buy DVD’s can’t read and need the visual image of who’s in it. Lame. On the other hand, this flick was pretty dope and the wait for it to hit DVD isn’t too long. Plus check it out: extended snuff films ! Yay!

DISTRUBIA – August 7th
Finally, a DVD cover that mirror’s the theatrical poster! Minus the stupid quote at the bottom of the box. For a movie that’s been such a ‘hit’ at the box office, you’d think it wouldn’t matter as much to have a huge quote from a critic saying that it’s good. Anyway, packed with enough special features to make your head spin, this badboy should be at the top of your list… if your a 14 year old girl.

INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS: COLLECTOR”S EDITION – August 7th
Just in time for the release of THE INVASION, the original 1972 sci-fi/horror classic (er, the original remake, that is) is coming at ya in this brand new collector’s edition. Sporting some awesome cover art, and loaded with features, if you’re a fan of aliens taking over the world type movies, this one’s for you! If alien take-overs scare you to the point of screaming like a girl, you’re a wussy who should buck up and check this out anyway… it’s a classic, man!

BUBBA HO-TEP: VEGAS KING EDITION – August 7th
Nothing notably new or exciting feature wise, but I will say this: the gimmicky box and edition name is pretty cool! Not cool enough to duplicate this beast if it’s already in your collection, but if you haven’t picked it up yet- here’s your chance! Bruce Campbell as a mummy fighting Elvis never gets old!

DELIVERANCE: DELUXE EDITION – September 18th
Some say this movie is the most terrifying movie ever made. I’d say, in some circles, that’s probably a true statement. Especially if the idea of getting cornholed in the middle of buttf*ck nowhere is your worse nightmare. Slamming out in a new edition, featuring some really stellar featurette’s and documentaries, if you haven’t seen it and are just a bit curious, you should definitely check it out. Plus, it’s always fun to see the Reynolds all young and spiffy in his prime.

SUSPIRIA –September 25th – Because it’s Dario Argento doing what he does best.
DEATH PROOF –September 18th – Because I’m so pissed that they’re releasing DP and PLANET TERROR seperately, that I may just end up pulling a DEATH PROOF move on the Weinstein’s myself!
ZODIAC –July 24th – Because it’s still an awesome movie, even if Paramount shafted it with a no-extras DVD release.
