One ass-kicking apocalyptic film I wanted to hit up this past January but never got around to was the Hughes Brothers directorial return with THE BOOK OF ELI. Everything looked awesome about it, even if its word of mouth was a mixed bag.

The gods at Warner Home Video must have heard my prayers, as today they announced that THE BOOK OF ELI will be arriving on DVD and Blu-ray June 15, 2010 (PRE-ORDER YOUR COPY RIGHT HERE)! And not only do we have the covers for both the DVD and the Blu-ray below, but we also have the list of special features to look forward to. Check ’em out:

  • Additional scenes
  • “The Lost Tales” featurette
  • [Blu-ray only] “Starting Over” featurette
  • [Blu-ray only] “Soundtrack Piece” featurette
  • [Blu-ray only] “Eli’s Journey” featurette
  • [Blu-ray only] Digital Copy / DVD Combo
  • Nothing’s finer than picking up a film on Blu-ray, and getting both a Digital Copy and a DVD version of the film as an extra bonus. They’re saying, “take this movie with you anywhere you go” — and I’m totally down with that. Thanks WB! Plus, I’m sure seeing Mila Kunis in every format possible is as much fun as it sounds.

Check out the cover art below (I’m pleased to report they kept the original theatrical poster art for the video release), and get super pumped for THE BOOK OF ELI on DVD and Blu-ray June 15, 2010 (PRE-ORDER YOUR COPY HERE).
