Dwayne Johnson is keeping the Twitter machine alive and today he pumped more life into it with a reveal of his helmet for the upcoming HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS. Styled from the ancient Greek warrior helmets, the gold-covered helmet is emblazoned with the head of a lion, which is representative of its comic roots, but also shows the difference in translation, as Hercules wears an actual lion's head in the comic adaptation the film is based on. Looking pretty cool otherwise.

Take a gander:

I really don't know what to make of HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS. Will it be an R-rated, bloody affair? Doubtful. Will it be an entertaining, mild romp? Likely. Could it surprise us all and be something in-between? Hopefully. With Brett Ratner at the helm I can't say I'm over the moon, but he has risen to the challenge on occasion (RED DRAGON, THE FAMILY MAN), so there's certainly the possibility this could be cool, especially with a cast that includes Johnson, Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, John Hurt, Joseph Fiennes, Aksel Hennie, Tobias Santelmann, Irina Shayk, and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal.

HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS hits theaters on July 25, 2014.

Irina Shayk certainly does not hurt the film in the least…
