“This is Tom, my prod. designer standing in a redwood tree that has fallen over and split. This is one of our locations in N. Cali.”

Looks like I’m on the edge alone folks…the only one here at AITH willing to brave the inevitable disaster that will be AFTER EARTH…the M. Night Shama-lama-ding-dong…Will and Jaden Smith sci-fi adventure film. I must be a damn glutton for punishment. Why else would I bring you such inconsequential concept art pieces for the film?

Keeping with his cryptic trademark, M. Night has admittedly offered the most frustratingly ambiguous looks at his new film. Cop a peek!

“This is Dean, an amazing illustrator. He’s illustrating an early scene from the film. (I’ve picked tantalizingly vague pictures haven’t I?)”

“These are paintings and photos I’ve collected over the year. They are up on the inspiration wall in the art department of After Earth.”

With Isabelle Fuhrman, Zoe Kravitz (below) and Sophie Okonedo also starring – The story is set in a future in which humans no longer live on Earth after it becomes inhospitable. The elder Smith is playing a hero, while Jaden is his son, considered a failure as a warrior. When the two crash-land on Earth, it’s up to the son to save the dad.

AFTER EARTH orbits June 7th, 2013.
