‘Twas back in July of last year when we reported that the Chilean horror film HIDDEN IN THE WOODS was getting an English-language makeover courtesy of Michael Biehn and his wife Jennifer Blanc-Biehn (as well as original director Patricio Valladares). Details on the project have not been eager to present themselves since, but today changes that with some casting news.

Thanks to a press release provided by Blanc-Biehn, we learn that Electra Avellan (she of the infamous Babysitter Twins) has joined the remake, along with Blanc-Biehn, Mark Burnham and Mr. Biehn himself.

HIDDEN IN THE WOODS focuses on Ana and Anny, two sisters whom have been raised in isolation under the atrocity of drug dealing and the incestuous obsession of their grim father. When they, tired of the abuse, call the police, he kills two officers and is put in jail. Free from their father, the girls now will have to escape from Tío Costello, the local drug lord trying to recover a large amount of drugs hidden in the woods.

Pre-production is underway on the film, which will shoot in Texas this spring. Keep it here for more info as it arrives.
