Elizabeth Banks joins the Power Rangers movie as Rita Repulsa

The POWER RANGERS follows group of high-school kids who are infused with unique superpowers in order to save the world. Couple that with tons of sub-par kung-fu and overacting that would make Jim Carey shit himself, and you have an idea of what the original show was about. The reboot is coming by way of director Dean Israelite (PROJECT ALMANAC) and if that's not exciting enough for ya, check out the casting of one of the film's lead villains!

After 10,000 years, I'm free! It's time to conquer Earth!!⚡️ Time to play #RitaRepulsa #PowerRangersMovie

Okay, so I have no love for the POWER RANGERS what-so-ever, but Elizabeth Banks is in posession of all the charisma and then some. At any rate, I'm sure she's going to have a hell of a time playing up this role. Who knows? Maybe this movie will actually be good! Hahah, we're having a good time…

POWER RANGERS is scheduled to hit theaters on March 24, 2017.
