Elizabeth Olsen and Bryan Cranston are eyeing parts in Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla

The GODZILLA reboot from Gareth Edwards has collected some more interest from a couple of great talents.

Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen are both circling roles in the upcoming monster flick. Legendary Pictures are entering into talks with both actors. No word on what either parts are. To date, there is also no synopsis. All we know is that in addition to Godzilla there will be two other monsters.

The Variety article that first broke the news also mentions that Aaron Johnson is only “in talks” and has yet to be officially cast into a role, leading or not. Rumor has it that Johnson will be playing a soldier if cast. No deals will be finaiized until “the finished script materializes.” That script rewrite is currently in the hands of Frank Darabont.

Darabont has to turn in something fairly soon if the project wants to meet the March production start. Cranston was recently seen in ARGO and Olsen has been busy with OLDBOY.

What I found to be most interesting about this entire article, aside from my love for both actors, was the fact that Olsen is being sought after for a role in Michael Bay‘s NINJA TURTLES movie. Oh please let it be for April O’Neil. Please. Please. Please. While I do have other ladies in mind for the part, I like the idea of Olsen even if I’m not necessarily on board for the movie itself.

GODZILLA is set to release May 16, 2014.
