Elm St. updates

A couple of news bits for all of you eager to see how A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is progressing. Well, it’s doing just that – progressing.

First up is the major scoop ShockTillYouDrop just hit the world with: Make-Up artist Andy Clement will be handling Freddy’s charred, snarled face. Clement has worked on over 30 different movies and t.v. shows, including SPIDER-MAN 3, CLOVERFIELD, “HOUSE M.D.” and the upcoming STAR TREK reboot. (Not to mention THE BLAIR THUMB and BAT THUMB!)

But who is to be sitting in the make-up chair, having all that latex applied to their mug? Well, Jackie Earle Haley’s name certainly keeps popping up. IGN caught up with “Rorschach” at the WATCHMEN premiere and asked the man if these rumors that he’s been approached for the role are true.. You can watch their video interview below – but tellingly, Haley says he’s “exchanged words” with the producers, he “doesn’t want to rule it out” and is “curious” about it. So obviously Haley is in contention to don the spiked glove. At the moment, I can think of no one better suited. (Okay, Englund would be the preferred choice, but that just isn’t happening, folks.)
