The Shudder streaming service has confirmed that The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs – hosted by legendary drive-in movie critic Joe Bob Briggs – will be returning for a fifth season. But before we see the new season of The Last Drive-In, chances are we’ll be seeing some specials along the way… and it sounds like the also-legendary movie host Elvira is going to be a guest on one of those specials!

When asked by Dread Central what she’ll have going on this Halloween season, Elvira answered,

There’s a couple of funny things, actually. I am doing Joe Bob Briggs’s show [The Last Drive-In] and getting together with him. We haven’t worked together for a million years, so that’s going to be really fun because I love Joe Bob. We’re going to be doing the show together and possibly another production together.

Elvira’s collaboration(s) with Joe Bob were then confirmed by The Last Drive-In‘s own Darcy the Mail Girl:

Season 4 of The Last Drive-in with Joe Bob Briggs had the following synopsis:

The hit series returns with Briggs, the world’s foremost drive-in movie critic, presenting eclectic horror movie double features, interrupting the films to expound upon their merits, histories, and significance to genre cinema. The season premiere will feature a celebration of The Last Drive-In’s 100th movie since Joe Bob’s first Shudder marathon in 2018, with surprise special guests. Shudder and Briggs first teamed up in July 2018, for the 24-hour marathon intended to be Briggs’ final farewell to televised movie hosting. Due to overwhelming popular demand, Shudder brought The Last Drive-In back as a weekly series and for multiple holiday specials.

The show is produced by Matt Manjourides and Justin Martell, and directed by Austin Jennings.

Halloween would be the perfect time for an Elvira / Joe Bob Briggs team-up special, so I’m hoping we’ll soon hear that Shudder has scheduled an October premiere date for this one.
