It's been confirmed that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman, Watchmen) will lead Warner Bros. Emergency Contact, an action vehicle set in the Austin, Texas, underground music scene. Dwayne Johnson's Seven Bucks and Beau Flynn’s Flynn Pictures will produce. Joining the production efforts are Hiram Garcia and Dany Garcia, also of Seven Bucks. In addition, Abdul-Mateen will also executive produce alongside writers Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, and Scott Sheldon.

Abdul-Mateen has had Hollywood in the palm of his hand ever since he played Manta in 2018's Aquaman. After appearing in Jordan Peele's Us, and the unassuming Cal Aber in HBO's Watchmen, Abdul-Mateen brought down the house as Bobby Seale in The Trial of the Chicago 7. Next, he'll star as Anthony McCoy in Nia DaCosta's urban horror film Candyman. Rather than rest between films, Abdul-Mateen is currently filming The Matrix 4 for Lana Wachowski. He joins a stunning cast that includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jessica Henwick, Priyanka Chopra, Jonathan Groff, Ellen Hollman, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jada Pinkett Smith, among others.

Plot details for Emergency Contact are being kept off the dancefloor at this time, though we'll be sure to let you know as soon as we learn more.
