Through a revolutionary technology called "The Animus," Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day. How about that! 20th Century Fox released the first actual clip from the upcoming video game adaptation, and you can see it for yourself below!

Director Justin Kurzel and his cinematographer, Adam Arkapaw, showed off some serious visual proficiency with their previous effort, MACBETH. I don't know if ASSASSIN'S CREED will be the video game movie to end all video game movies, but it sure is gorgeous to look at! Here's to Michael Fassbender dispatching some sick, 15th century justice!

ASSASSIN'S CREED will open in theaters on December 21, 2016.
