Enter the cyber world of Mr. Robot and prepare yourself for season 2

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Mr. Robot tells the story of Elliot Alderson (Golden Globe and SAG Award Nominee Rami Malek), a young cyber-security engineer by day and vigilante hacker by night who gets recruited by a mysterious leader (Golden Globe Award Winner Christian Slater) into an underground hacker group known as fsociety. Following the events of fsociety’s hack on multi-national company Evil Corp, the second season aims to explore the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control. On July 13th, Mr. Robot – the 2015 Peabody Award and Critics’ Choice Award Winner – returns for a second season to USA Network, and you can get a refresher course on the first season with the following video recap [SPOILERS]!

While hacking is the name of the game when it comes to Mr. Robot, the first thing to grab my attention in the first season was the performance of Rami Malek as Elliot. This character is far from a hero and very reminiscent of Lisbeth Salander from GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO in that there's so much going on beneath the surface. While the first season does feel like a standalone experience, I'm curious to see where writer and executive producer Sam Esmail takes the story and these characters come season 2.

MR. ROBOT returns for season 2 on Wednesday, July 13th at 10/9c on USA Network.
