Update: Entertainment Weekly was kind enough to release 8 new images from AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. While none of them are quite as juicy as the cover, I’ve included them at the bottom for your viewing pleasure!

Entertainment Weekly has been on the ball lately with character reveals via it’s cover art. Just last month we got a high-res image of Tom Hardy’s Mad Max, as well as Charlize Theron’s look as the villainous Furiosa. That was almost immediately followed by a slew of new images. I hope Entertainment Weekly follows the same pattern this time, because this cover obliterates that one.

This really needs very little introduction, but check out Ultron!

I seem to recall reading some spoilery details that perfectly fall in line with what we’re seeing on this cover. Ultron’s costume, with a luminous red light being emanated from within, similar to that of the Balrog from THE LORD OF THE RINGS. Then there’s the drones in the back, close in design to Ultron, but lacking the super evil redness. Looking good, Joss! Now let’s see what you have to show us later this month at SDCC!

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will Ultron-ate theaters on May 1, 2015.
