My my my, what a line-up!

A bevy of beauties are evidently reading for TOTAL RECALL‘s two key female lead roles, and no, that doesn’t count the three-breasted prostitute. I’m talking “Melina”, the badass rebel who helps Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger/Colin Farrell) -she was portrayed by Rachel Ticotin in the Paul Verhoeven version – and “Lori”, the sexy, deceitful wife, a role memorably inhabited by Sharon Stone in the original.

Kate Bosworth (SUPERMAN RETURNS) and Eva Mendes have all apparently read for the Lori role…

Meanwhile, Mendes has also read for Melina, along with Eva Green (CASINO ROYALE; pictured right), Paula Patton (MIRRORS) and Jessica Biel (STEALTH).

Strangely enough, it would appear as though director Len Wiseman’s wife, Kate Beckinsale, isn’t in the mix… although maybe he’s trying to avoid being predictable.

For my money, Eva Mendes would make a perfect Melina; she’s got spunk, she’s sexy, and she looks like she could kick your ass with no problem. For Lori I would actually go with Eva Green, even though she’s apparently only up for the Melina role. Green oozes mystery and sensuality, Lori’s key traits, and she’d fill Sharon Stone’s heels nicely.

Once a decision is made, we’ll be sure to let you know! Now get your fine ass to Mars!
