Another week, another new casting announcement for JANE GOT A GUN, the seemingly cursed western starring Natalie Portman, Noah Emmerich, Joel Edgerton, and Rodrigo Santoro. It appears that Obi-Wan Kenobi himself, Ewan McGregor, has jumped into the saddle as the film's lead villain, replacing the likes of Michael Fassbender and Bradley Cooper. McGregor is a solid choice and it'll be nice to see him play the bad guy again. It's pretty rare for the actor, but he's dabled in villains before (see: ANGELS AND DEMONS), so it won't be completely foreign material for him.

JANE GOT A GUN has been plagued with problems since original director Lynne Ramsay left the production on the day it was to begin shooting (she was replaced with WARRIOR helmer Gavin O'Connor), which was followed by a number of actors leaving the film. As long as McGregor is signed on the dotted line, then this should be the end of the casting issues for the film. Unless J.J. Abrams calls, of course.

JANE GOT A GUN is set to debut sometime in 2014.

Here is a shot from his audition for the role…
