Break out the hammers!

Today, we have the first look at the new poster for Spike Lee’s OLDBOY, which stars Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, and Samuel L. Jackson in a remake of Park Chan-Wook’s 2003 film of the same name. We’ve heard good things about the film thus far and based on the talent involved it’s shaping up to be one of the more provocative films of the year. Having seen and loved the original, the news of this remake had me a little leery, but everything I’ve seen and heard thus far, including this new poster, has got me downright giddy to experience the violent tale in a new light all over again. Trailer coming soon! (see below)

Check it out:

Here’s the synopsis:

OLDBOY is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

The official red-band trailer will debut on Yahoo! this Wednesday, July 10th, so be sure to check back here for that!

OLDBOY is set to hammer down on October 25, 2013.
