Our man Chris Bumbray is at Sundance checking out all sorts of flicks and one that is on his to-do list is the comedy BASS ACKWARDS. The film, executive produced by Mark Duplass (who’s at Sundance with his own movie, CYRUS), follows a guy who travels cross-country in a beat up Volkswagen van. What’s interesting about the movies is that it will be released nationally on Monday, Feb. 1 one day after the Sundance FF wraps via VOD and digital retailers. It’s an interesting experiment to see if a movie can immediately capitalize on any festival buzz.
