A SINGLE SHOT, the new thriller from director David M. Rosenthal, is a dark and gritty looking thriller that features the always awesome Sam Rockwell as a master hunter who finds himself in a pinch when a tragic event turns his world upside down. Rockwell is a true master of his craft and he has a bang up cast to back him up here, including William H. Macy, Ted Levine, Kelly Reilly, Jason Isaacs, Jeffrey Wright, Melissa Leo, and Ophelia Lovibond. Today, we have an awesome, intense clip that sets up the entire film.

Take a shot:

Here's the synopsis:

The tragic death of a beautiful young girl starts a tense and atmospheric game of cat and mouse between hunter John Moon and the hardened backwater criminals out for his blood.

This looks like a great backwoods thriller (check out the trailer here!) and with such a kick ass cast on board it's sure to deliver the goods. What I love about smaller, independent thrillers like this is that they really allow the actors to immerse themselves in the role without major expectations to deliver anything more than a stunning performance. No summer blockbuster stakes here, just scene-chewing awesomeness. Coming from Rockwell, you know the odds are good for that.

A SINGLE SHOT hits On Demand on August 20, 2013 and debuts in theaters on September 20, 2013.
