Exclusive Interview: The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Jamie Foxx and Dane Dehaan!

JoBloJoBlo

Usually it seems like a total blast to tackle the role of the bad guy or super villain, but in the case of the poor souls in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, it rather seems like a great, horrible weight. In the film, Jamie Foxx plays Max Dillon, a worker drone who is eventually transformed (painfully, I might add) into the conflicted monster known as Electro. Meanwhile, Dane DeHaan is Harry Osborn, unloved son of Norman Osborn who discovers he’s inherited a nasty family curse and eventually turned into (again, very painfully) the Green Goblin. Baddies usually have all the fun but in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 it really appear to be more burden than blessing.

I sat down with the Foxx and DeHaan recently to discuss their roles in the highly-anticipated sequel, the fun of going over-the-top, the challenges of their advanced make-up work, and the excitement they feel being a part of a gigantic franchise.
