THE BOOK OF LIFE is a wonderful animated celebration of Day of the Dead. It also features some inspired casting choices including the very talented Diego Luna and Zoe Saldana as childhood friends who discover the importance of being you and being there for others. Along with Channing Tatum, this trio of actors makes for a delightfully charming romantic triangle, one that is the center of this terrific animated feature from director Jorge R. Gutierrez.
While our man Eric Walkuski sat down with Mr. Tatum in New York, I had the extreme pleasure of talking with both Luna and Saldana. As a fan, it was an extreme pleasure to chat about the characters and how both actors approached them. This is a wonderfully inspired work, produced by the great Guillermo del Toro, and I highly recommend checking it out when it opens this Thursday in theatres everywhere… and seriously, that Diego Luna can sing!
