Bill Pullman, I mean, Eric Walkuski and I had had the chance to chat up with THE COLLECTOR director Marcus Dunstan yesterday for an upcoming episode of Blood Bullets & Broads: The AITH Podcast, and during our little chat the man went into a ton of depth about the next project he’s working on: THE COLLECTOR 2!

Given the greenlight to go ahead and write the script last Wednesday, Dunstan is hard at work developing the story for THE COLLECTOR 2, which he promises will reveal more of the character of who the Collector is and why he does all the crazy shit she does. **SPOILER ALERT** He also promises that we find out what happens to Arkin (Josh Stewart) after he’s abducted and thrown in the box, as the story will continue with him and his battle with the Collector. **END SPOILER ALERT**

Dunstan is super excited to be working on the script, and is still in awe of the little movie that was supposed to go straight to DVD and went on to bigger and better things. And now this: the chance to write the script for the sequel. The film itself will have to wait until the script is written, as will whether Dunstan will be directing the sequel or simply be on board as a writer. When asked whether he thinks he’ll be directing the sequel, he replied that he wants to, but that “I’ll believe it when I’m actually there on set.”

Be sure to check out our EXCLUSIVE CLIP from THE COLLECTOR HERE, and be sure to tune in to Blood Bullets & Broads: The AITH Podcast in the week’s ahead to hear the entire interview in all of it’s uncut glory, as Dunstan dishes on the success of THE COLLECTOR, and how he embraces its similarities to the SAW series.
