Sasha Grey in a horror send-up? It’s what dreams are made of!

Remember the awesome sounding horror comedy SMASH CUT, starring such venerated genre stalwarts as David Hess and Michael Berryman? Oh I know what you’re thinking…to hell with those bastards, gimme some Sasha Grey. But wait a munte, don’t you wanna hear about our exclusive scoop regarding a new photo and a release date for the film?!?

For those who don’t subscribe to the wonders of modern day adult entertainment, Sasha Grey is a prominent adult video star who earned Best Female Performer of the Year (2008). She’s also one of the latest to try her hand at cross-over acting, having starred in Steven Soderbergh’s low budget experimental film THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE just last year. Well here we are, propping her new film SMASH CUT, which will debut on the Shriek Show label’s new “Fresh Meat” Imprint and finally arrive on DVD March 23rd of this year. Whoopee!

Directed by Lee Demarbre, from an Ian Driscoll script, SMASH CUT stars Sasha Grey as television news celebrity April Carson who hires private investigator Isaac Beaumonde (Jesse Buck) to help find her missing sister, a stripper known as Gigi Spot (Jennilee Murray). Following a bloodstained trail, Carson goes undercover and auditions for a role in a low budget horror movie. Soon, she shockingly discovers that the movie’s director, Able Whitman (David Hess), is not only the killer but that he has utilized her sister’s body parts to pump up the ‘realism’ for his new production! When Whitman requires more ‘props’ for his film, he sets off on a crimson-splattered killing spree. Now, only intrepid reporter April and the celebrated private detective stand between the demented director and his unquenchable thirst for reel slaughter at 24 frames per second!

So what do you make of the photo below? Call me crazy, but seeing Michael Berryman rockin’ a nasty Jew-y curl is pretty damn sleaze ball. Which is to say, I f*ckin’ love it! Hess sporting some kind of Amelia Earhart scarf is also pretty damn good. Apparently the two men are plotting their next stab at winning an Oscar.

Ray Sager, Jennilee Murray, Michael Dubue, Barry Blake, Parisa Kasaei, Jeff Lawson, Cinthia Burke and the great, great Herschell Gordon Lewis all co-star in the film.

Media Blasters Inc. and Fever Dreams are releasing the DVD.

Now for some Sasha!
