We recently broke the “Thomas Jane IS IN HEADSHOT with Sly Stallone” story when Mr. Jane dropped the bomb on our Podcast: BLOOD, BULLETS & BROADS. And today; Jane shot us an e-mail to give us his thoughts on the script, the tone of the picture, amongst others things. You got the floor Mr. Jane!
Thomas Jane: “There’s no bigger fan of Walter Hill than me. As you may remember, we went in to Lions Gate to pitch his version of Punisher II – and when they turned us down that’s what prompted me to walk.
I’ve been trying to get this film or that film together with Hill for a long time – I’m thrilled to be finally working with him now! We’re in the hands of the master. The man made the mold with 48 Hrs. No one gets that magic combination of action, character & dry humor. His leading men are tough in the real way, not the ‘action guy’ Hollywood way. When Sly said ‘black comedy’ — that’s what he was getting at. 48 hrs, not ‘Rush Hour.’ And Sly is at his best when he plays down to earth, no nonsense, dare I say self-deprecating characters like Rambo & Balboa.
The script is awesome. There’s humor, but it comes out of the situation, no ‘gags’ here. I look at the story as ‘old guard meets new guard.’ Legend vs. Reality. I can’t wait to go toe to toe with with the legend!”
Thomas Jane, Walter Hill, Sly Stallone… yup HEADSHOT = an action fiends wet dream come true. Pumped!

BTW; if you haven’t seen STANDER starring Thomas Jane yet; rectify that ASAP. Solid flick! A fav of mine!
