Extended TV spot for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings in new footage

Yep, summer movie season is about to kick into high gear. May is traditionally the start (although April is starting to become a hell of an appetizer) and this year it's THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 that ushers in the 2014 season. Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Sally Field, Paul Giamatti, and Chris Cooper, the Marc Webb directed sequel hits the ground running, hitting us with no less than three villains (or more?), setting up the franchise to have its own Spidey Cinematic Universe. Today, we have a new, extended spot that shows a bit more footage from the film as it heads into its last month of promotions before the big day.

"We can have the power now.":

Watching the trailer for this in the theater last night for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, there was a definite buzz amongst fans to see it. I remember seeing trailers for the first one (of the reboot) and hearing audible sighs and negative comments, but this one seemed to have a more favorable response. I'm definitely more open to it than I was the first one and am actually looking forward to seeing it in 3D. You don't need 3D for Cap 2, really, but for Spidey swinging through the city there's a bit more incentive.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.
