Netflix has been ramping up their original movies game in a big way over the years. What once amounted to just a handful of films a year has expanded to multiple films every month, and many of those film's have proven to be extremely popular. As we know, Netflix largely remains highly secretive regarding just how many people are watching their movies and TV shows, but every so often, they do release a little information.

Per Bloomberg, Netflix has revealed their ten most popular original movies, which includes EXTRACTION, BIRD BOX, THE IRISHMAN, THE WRONG MISSY, and more. You can check out the full list below.

EXTRACTION (2020) – 99 million

BIRD BOX (2018) – 89 million

SPENSER CONFIDENTIAL (2020) – 85 million

6 UNDERGROUND (2019) – 83 million

MURDER MYSTERY (2019) – 73 million

THE IRISHMAN (2019) – 64 million

TRIPLE FRONTIER (2019) – 63 million

THE WRONG MISSY (2020) – 59 million

THE PLATFORM (2019) – 56 million

THE PERFECT DATE (2019) – 48 million

It's important to note that this list represents the number of viewers each movie had in its first four weeks of release; additionally, Netflix considers anyone who watches at least two minutes of a movie as a viewer, so if you popped on MURDER MYSTERY only to turn it off in disgust after two minutes, it still counts! Although not every movie is a winner, the sheer volume means that there's likely something for everyone on Netflix. "We want an impactful movie every two weeks," said Scott Stuber, the head of Netflix’s film division. "For one person, that’s Extraction. For another, it’s The Wrong Missy." What are some of your favourite Netflix original movies?

Given that EXTRACTION has topped the list, it's no surprise that Netflix has gotten the ball rolling on a follow-up to the action thriller which will see the return of Chris Hemsworth as black ops mercenary Tyler Rake. Joe Russo (AVENGERS: ENDGAME) revealed just last week that he's already begun penning the script for the next installment of the series. "I started writing the sequel (prequel?) three weeks ago," Russo said. "It's a great character to write for, with a fantastic performance from Hemsworth. So it makes my job easier. I think the mission is to up the scale on this one both emotionally and physically."
