I love Chuck Norris, but I also believe he’s a teensy bit crazy. He campaigned hard for a PG-13 EXPENDABLES 2 (?), wants to keep gay people out of the Boy Scouts of America (??), once announced his wish for Texas to secede from the union (?!?), and also put forth a bid for the presidency of said state (?!?!).
Now, after today’s news, I feel like he’s finally lost it for good: Chuck Norris will not be appearing in EXPENDABLES 3. When asked by Access Hollywood if he would be returning, Norris replied “Nope. Just number 2. This is it for me… This is very special. Just to be able to do the film with guys I’ve known for many, many years. To get a chance to get in and fight with them, it was a lot of fun. Plus getting a chance to meet Terry Crews, who I hadn’t met before. And Jason Statham, whom I hadn’t met before. It was fun just to do that.”
Seriously, Chuck? I can kind of understand your hardcore right-wing views (after all, I’ve been watching your movies for over twenty years), but to pass up another crack at THE EXPENDABLES? When else will I get to see that beautiful beard on the big screen? Truly, on this day, action fans everywhere weep in unison. Or make bad “Chuck Norris Fact” jokes to one another.
