Fake Terminators!

There’s shameless, and then there’s The Asylum. The lords of Mockbusters – or Knockbusters or just plain ripoffs – are infamous for how blatantly they steal images, ideas, poster art, and practically the titles from big-budget efforts, which are then repackaged as cheap, z-movie nonsense. (Recent, brilliantly conceived projects have been AVH: ALIEN VS. PREDATOR, TRANSMORPHERS, H.G. WELLS’ WAR OF THE WORLDS, SNAKES ON A TRAIN… The list goes on.) They almost didn’t get away with it last year, however, when Fox finally took action to put an end to their shenanigans when word got out about Asylum’s feebly imagined THE DAY THE EARTH STOPPED. There was no lawsuit – as far as I know, just a cease and desist letter – and it sure hasn’t stopped Asylum from cranking out their unique brand of bullshit.

The proud new addition to their filmography is – sigh – THE TERMINATORS. But in case you’re confusing it with another movie that has “terminator” in the title, the synopsis should clear it up: A small band of resistance fighters battle the cyborgs that have taken control of the planet. Forget what I just said.

Anyhow, check out the teaser below, if you’ve got 52 seconds that you’re looking to utterly murder. THE TERMINATORS will hit DVD on April 28th.
