Consider this THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON week around the planet, as fans across the country are now counting down the days, hours, and minutes until NEW MOON is unleashed on Friday (and in most cases, at midnight Thursday). If you thought the hype was all for nothing, think again.
We start off the week learning that NEW MOON as become the top-selling pre-release title in the history of Fandango.com, which has been going strong for more than 10 years now. The fastest selling movie ever, in other words… and it hasn’t even come out yet!
The previous title was held by STAR WARS III: REVENGE OF THE SITH, followed by HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE, THE DARK KNIGHT, and (of course) TWILIGHT.
But what does it really mean? That a lot of people are pre-ordering their tickets now so they can wait in line for a few days to ensure they get the perfect seat. This is insanity… which leads to the bigger question, just how much bank will NEW MOON make in its opening weekend? I have a feeling the numbers are going to be staggering…
