Whenever an apocalyptic event comes along to wipe out a large number of the population, there are bound to be survivors who will look at the lack of people around them as something of a blessing, a chance to kick back and relax in the peace and quiet. Like Burgess Meredith's character on The Twilight Zone. And like Peter Dinklage's character in I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW.
Directed by cinematographer Reed Morano (a name that sounds like what Burgess Meredith's character wanted to do after the apocalypse; read more) and written by Mike Makowsky, I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW drops Dinklage into a post-apocalyptic situation, then has his peace and quiet get disturbed by the arrival of a character played by Elle Fanning.
The synopsis:
Del (Dinklage) is alone in the world. After the human race is wiped out, he lives in his small, empty town, content in his solitude and the utopia he’s methodically created for himself — until he is discovered by Grace (Fanning), an interloper whose history and motives are obscure. Worse yet, she wants to stay.
Somehow Charlotte Gainsbourg and Paul Giamatti show up in the film as well.
I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW will be getting a theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles on September 14th, with a wider (but still limited) release to follow on September 21st. The film will also be available on VOD as of that date.
