Nearly three months after the tragic death of actor Paul Walker, it has been revealed that FAST AND FURIOUS 7 is ready to continue production. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures and director James Wan will resume shooting on the sequel this April in Atlanta, Georgia.

The remainder of the shoot will last from six to eight weeks, according to THR’s sources. That’s a significant amount of shooting time, but the film has a year before it hits theaters.

Work on FAST AND FURIOUS 7 was approximately halfway completed when Walker died in a car crash on November 30th. The film’s original release date of July 11, 2014 had to be cancelled so that the producers and writer Chris Morgan could figure out their next move. It has been said that Walker’s character, Brian O’Connor, will be “retired” and not killed off, but neither Universal nor Wan have officially commented on the matter.

FAST AND FURIOUS 7 will open April 10, 2015.
