Fatal flu details

In what may be one of the crappier titles I’ve heard in a while, Sony has announced FATAL CONTACT: BIRD FLY IN AMERICA for October 31st. Starring Stacey Keach, Joely Richardson, Ann Cusack, Justina Machado, and Scott Cohen, the plot (‘ripped directly from today’d news’ screams the magazine ad) is basically a sorry excuse for an OUTBREAK ripoff: An outbreak of avian flu mutates into a virus that becomes transmittable from human to human. Granted, OUTBREAK was about monkeys, but still…

Retailing for the low, low price of $24.96, the made-for-TV film will be presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. The sole extras involved are some bonus previews (whatever those are). Aren’t you glad we find this stuff out first so you don’t have to?
