Major casting announcements over at Project Greenlight’s 3rd season winner, FEAST. Co-produced by Wes Craven and Dimension films the cast includes Navi Rawat (THE O.C.), Balthazar Getty (HABITAT), Krista Allen (ANGER MANAGEMENT), Henry Rollins (HEAT) and Jason Mewes (DOGMA). OK, now I don’t care how it turns out. Any movie that has Henry Rollins and Jason Mewes in it, I’m there. Add to that the presence of Krista Allen in a movie about people getting eaten, well I’ll just leave it at that…

On a snowy evening at a rural watering hole, a motley crew of bar patrons struggle to survive a hungry family of flying beasts set on consuming a human buffet.
Nice and simple, I like that.
Originated by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, I’ve always been a fan of Greenlight’s attempt at giving unknown screenwriters, and as of the 2nd season – directors, a chance to make a Hollywood feature. Too bad the first two movies, STOLEN SUMMER and BATTLE OF SHAKER HEIGHTS both tanked, not even pulling back in their million dollar price tag.
I think they’re very much on the right track now deciding to focus on genre work. As long as they don’t try to “broaden the audience” by going for the PG-13, they should do fine. Since early set reports indicate buckets o’blood being spilled, I’m guessing this won’t be a problem. The original script was reported to be quite a gorefest, so it’d be a real shame to see this come out as anything but wet, wet, wet!
