One of the coolest things about Blumhouse's upcoming HALLOWEEN sequel is the fact that the original HALLOWEEN's director John Carpenter has returned to compose an updated version of the score he created for the first movie. Knowing that Carpenter's music is a selling point, the marketing department has made that the focus of a promotional featurette that has been released online and can be seen below.
The featurette boasts interviews with Carpenter and his collaborators on the new score, his son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies, and offers glimpses of them playing the new music… But if you're trying to avoid SPOILERS, you might want to sit through this featurette with your eyes closed. It isn't just a minute of Davies and the Carpenters, there are clips from the new movie in there as well, and the clips chosen give away a couple of the kills.
Original HALLOWEEN heroine Jamie Lee Curtis stars in the new film, reprising the role of
Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Also in the cast are Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen; Andi Matichak as Laurie's granddaughter Allyson; Miles Robbins, Virginia Gardner, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's Haddonfield High classmates; Will Patton and Rob Niter as police officers; Rhian Rees as a character named Dana; Toby Huss as Ray; and Diva Tyler as a caretaker. Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle and stuntman James Jude Courtney both wore the mask of the boogeyman this time around.
Executive produced by Carpenter and directed by David Gordon Green from a script Green wrote with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, the new HALLOWEEN is set to reach theatres on October 19th.
