This year’s
FANTASIA FILM FESTIVAL is now finito.
Although work outside the site resulted in me being mostly absent from the
Fest, I still managed to meet up with some old friends, made news ones, hooked up with some AITH readers (the stand out being a cool duder who
surprised his girl – an AITH reader by organizing drinks with me – classy
dude) and I got attend a couple of fly shin digs.

Right to left: Bill Moseley, a twat, Darren
Bousman and Dean Armstrong (from Repo The Genetic Opera).

Chris Bumbray and I, Kung Fu-ing with Legend Gordon
Liu!
Movie wise, JoBlo.com alumni Chris Bumbray
swayed to the dark side by tackling the bulk of the Fest for AITH. Here are his
69 cents as to the Fest: “Overall this has been a great year for Fantasia. The crowds have been great, and the film selection has been excellent as always. While I’m a bit disappointed that there was only one Shaw Bros. film shown at the fest (DISCIPLES OF THE 36TH CHAMBER)- I can’t really complain as Gordon Liu himself was on hand to introduce the film, and I even got to sit right behind him during the screening.
Overall I discovered a lot of great films- and I still have a whole bunch of reviews in the pipeline that should come up in the next few days. More than anything- I want to thank Mitch Davis for once again putting on one hell of a festival, and doing this Montreal-er proud, and of course The Arrow himself- John Fallon, as well as Berge & Mike for giving me the opportunity to cover the fest as a journalist, which has been a blast!”
