It's been fifteen years since SUPER TROOPERS first hit theaters and seven months since director Jay Chandrasekhar and the rest of the Broken Lizard comedy team reached their Indiegogo goal, but production is finally underway on the long-awaited sequel. That's right, SUPER TROOPERS 2 is filming right meow, and over the weekend Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme shared several set photos on their social media accounts.

Although I love the first movie, I don't have high hopes for the sequel, however I do have my fingers crossed that it won't be yet another disappointing comedy sequel. SUPER TROOPERS 2 doesn't have a release date yet, but Fox Searchlight has agreed to distribute it, and while plot details haven't been revealed yet, hopefully some info about the film will drop in the near future.
