One flick I really loved was Scott Glosserman’s BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON. I had no idea what to expect going in to this flick and it ended up making my favorites list. That’s pretty impressive for a little flick like BEHIND THE MASK.
So when we finally have some inklings of an update on the film’s long awaited sequel, well you can bet I’ll be telling you about it! And low and behold, that’s exactly what I’m here to do today!
You see there was a BEHIND THE MASK reunion panel at this year’s Creation LA Weekend of Horrors and some very interesting information happened to come from this panel. Apparently the team definitely want to put together the sequel BEFORE THE MASK: THE RETURN OF LESLIE VERNON, but as always financial woes have gotten in the way. What we do know is that a script is finished from Glosserman and BEHIND THE MASK scribe David J. Stieve, some of the locations are all set to go and key cast members Nathan Baesel, Angela Goethals and Robert Englund are all geared up to return. Now that’s all pretty solid but unfortunately it takes money to make a movie and that’s one thing the BEFORE THE MASK team doesn’t have.
And that’s where YOU come in! Over at the project’s brand new Facebook page you can pre-order merchandise from the sequel, including the DVD, to help the team get the funds to make this shite. Or at least to help attract the attention of a major studio that might want to help in financing.
Understandably this is a large hill to climb for Glosserman and his team but I for one will be hoping every day they’re able to work something out. I can run my mouth all day about BEFORE THE MASK and the help it needs but I’m going to go ahead and let ‘Leslie Vernon’ himself finish it off in the promo vid directly below. Enjoy!
