According to the fine folks at Screen Daily, Korean sales company FineCut just scored the distribution rights of a lifetime: to Ji-woon Kim’s I SAW THE DEAD.
Starring Choi Min-sik and Lee Byung-hun, I SAW THE DEAD is about a psychopathic serial killer up against a special agent whose fiancée becomes one of his latest victims. Special agent becomes obsessed with tracking the serial killer down, essentially turning into a monster himself.
Considering it’s from the guy who directed A TALE OF TWO SISTERS and THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE WEIRD, I’d say this sucker should be high on the must see list. You know it’s gonna rock when the film just started filming a few weeks ago, and a company has already swooped down to pick up its rights. Nice work!
No word on an official release date just yet, but word around the campire is a late summer release. Seems like an awful quick turn around for it to be of any quality, but I’ll give Kim the benefit of the doubt. Stick around for more of I SAW THE DEAD as we hear it!
