With a tad more than 2 months from release, there’s no question Warner Bros. & Platinum Dunes are shifting its marketing campaign for Samuel Bayer’s revision of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET into overdrive. This week alone we’ve seen set visits, cast interviews, new production stills, and a pretty rad new poster – all in support of the film’s April 30th release window.
And since we’re mere hours from the unveiling of the official trailer for the movie, we ask this: How’d you like to see a pair of quick TV spots for the damn thing?!?
Well friends, that’s precisely what we offer you below.
Time will only tell if replacing the inimitable Robert Englund with Jackie Earle Haley will pay off, but so far all signs point to a pretty horrific reimagining of our favorite pedophilic burn victim. Though we don’t see a whole lot of him in these spots, from what I’ve gathered from our man Eric’s set visit…the character looks pretty damn harrowing (more of a real burn victim than the OG Krueger).
Not much can be added in terms of the content of the following vids, save for the fact they’re sure to be allocated as pre-video advertising right here on AITH. That’s to say, you’ll probably be seeing this same footage as it precedes any number of random new videos we feature. You know how it goes!
Written by Wesley Strick and Eric Heisserer, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET stars Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Clancy Brown, Connie Britton, Lisa D. Mortensen and Charles E. Tiedje.
Synopsis: A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality.
