First look at Bryan Cranston as Zordon in Power Rangers Reboot

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

As the countdown to Dean Israelite’s rebooted POWER RANGERS film ticks down, more and more information about the film appears to be hitting the internet with each passing day. I suppose that’s how these things work, but today is special, because here we have our first glimpse at Bryan Cranston as the omnipotent floating head and mentor to the Power Rangers, Zordon. To be fair, I think the photo is a bit lame, but until we get a full-blown look at the yin to Alpha 5’s yang, this will have to do.

The photo you see here was taken from a cell phone video capture of the “Power Rangers Movie” virtual reality experience at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. From what I can tell, Zordon’s appearance looks to be pretty faithful to the original – even if they’ve replaced his Futurama-like glass tubing with that of a more psychedelic crystal ball motif. It’s also to note that if you look closely, you’ll steal a glance of Alpha 5 in the bottom left corner of the image. One can only imagine what he’s “Aye yai yai”ing about, given that, typically, Zordon is almost always delivering bad tidings to his fellow Rangers.

What do you think of Zordon’s new look? Is it what you expected? Should we start a #BoycottPowerRangers hashtag? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

POWER RANGERS will star Elizabeth Banks, Bryan Cranston, Ludi Lin, Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, Becky G and RJ Cyler. And you’d better dig into your closet and dust off those old Morphin Medallions, because POWER RANGERS morphs into theaters on March 24, 2017.
