SNOWPIERCER is the English-language debut of THE HOST director Joon-ho Bong, starring Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewan Bremner, and Allison Pill. The sci-fi, post-apocalyptic thriller “revolves around a train traveling in an endless circle, filled with the remnants of humanity after a devastating war and glaciation. The temperature is -80 degrees outside, but inside is a microcosm of humanity with different political and social structures.”

It’s based on a French graphic novel and seeks to dive deeper into the characters more so than the action, with Bong saying:

…the spectacle is not what I really want to show. The mood and sentiment you can feel inside the train, the desperateness. The exterior should be only groundwork to show all that.”

Up until now we’ve only seen concept art, poster, and snippet from Marco Beltrami’s score, but today they dropped a nice helping of marketing material that features our first look at the cast in the form of passports. Everyone looks about as dirty and ragged as you’d expect, while being trapped in a speeding train navigating through a snowpocalypse.

Take a look:

SNOWPIERCER is set to debut sometime in 2013.
