I think there are a whole bunch of us out there who can relate to the basic premise behind SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE; basically dating or hooking up with a girl who is about 10x hotter than any girl you deserve to get. It always reminded me of that website hotchickswithdouchebags.com and my paranoia that I was that douche. Yet even with that relatable premise and the eminently likable Jay Baruchel, I still can’t get into this trailer.
It’s trying hard and hitting all the right post-Apatow slacker comedy beats but it’s just not working for me. Never a good sign when the best thing about your trailer is an old Weezer song (which quite frankly, is stuck in my head now, so thanks for that). To be fair, it’s highly possible that this, being an R-rated comedy, had all its best bits cut out to make a green-band trailer. Maybe. Check it out for yourself and see what you think…
